Maret Olvet, the grand old lady of Estonian graphics art, has received recognition as a book illustrator, poster- and ex libris artist. Her works have been exhibited in many graphic and season exhibitions both in Estonia and abroad. In the 1960s and 70s, the artist uses predominantly high-printing and deep-printing techniques, here’s a collection of works she made at that time. Today, the work of the artist is in the direction of clarity and minimalism. Leaving aside the irrelevant, motifs express the artist’s beliefs as visual symbols.
