Virge Jõekalda (1963) – as a graphic artist. In 1988, she graduated from the Estonian SSR State Art Institute with a degree in graphics.
Since 1992, she has been a member of the Estonian Artists ‘Union and the Estonian Free Graphic Artists’ Association. The artist mainly cultivates intaglio printing techniques (drypoint). Recognized: 2004 Eduard Wiiralt Art Prize – Young Author Award for the graphic pages “My Garden, VI” and “Wild Garden I, II” (colored drypoint); 2009 Kristjan Raud Art Prize in Intaglio Printing for the series “My Garden” and “Paradise Garden” and other recognitions and awards.
Exhibited since 1983: in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Slovenia, Egypt, Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, India, Japan, Canada, USA, Great Britain.
